History
A 1,500-Year Masterpiece
Our products have a long history, with kimono weaving looms unearthed from 1,500-year-old ruins. KUBOKEI textiles are a shared asset of society, a crystallization of over 1,500 years of snow country culture and the wisdom of artisans.
Our Master Artisans
A technique requiring over 10 years of practice
Craftsmen hone their skills over an unimaginable number of years. For hand-dyeing, which requires delicate brushwork, more than 10 years of experience is essential. Each piece, which is carefully finished over several months, embodies the "skill" and "beauty" that the craftsman has acquired over decades.
Colors Born from Snow melted water
Terroir
The "Color of Life" that only pure,
pristine water can bring outPure snowmelt water from heavy snowfall regions gives colors an overwhelming depth, transparency, and brilliance. Here you will find vibrant colors that can only be reproduced with this snow melted water.
Hand-Blended Colors, 100% Crafted by Artisans
Bringing your ideal color to life through delicate blending
A pure, unadulterated beauty that mass-produced items simply cannot replicate
Instead of using dyes as they are, we blend them from scratch to suit the fabric and desired expression. Minimizing color mixing and achieving clear, unadulterated colors is an extremely difficult task.
100% High-Grade Silk
KUBOKEI's creations utilize only the finest, carefully selected silk. We meticulously choose 100% high-quality silk, selecting only that possesses the strength to withstand repeated dyeing and heat treatments, along with supple elasticity. This material, which retains its beautiful luster, texture, and vibrant shine even after numerous immersions and heating cycles, is an indispensable partner in our creative process.
